Ayurveda and Health

Ayurveda is an ancient medicinal system of India…. That is a most beautiful and precious gift of god to the mankind.

Ayurveda has 2 basic principles –

  • To prevent the diseases.
  • To cure the diseases.

If one person really want to stay healthy.. One should follow these 2 basic principles of Ayurveda.

Ayurveda work on body by balancing the vata, pitta and kapha.

According to the Ayurveda these vata, pitta and kapha are responsible for maintaing the good health and also in causing the diseases.

The condition of these vata, pitta and kapha i. e. Tridosh of body depends on following factors –

  1. Food which we take daily – If vata dosh become dominate in the body then that would cause dryness, irregular bowel habits, joint pain etc . in the body then one should not eat food which is lack of fat content. instead of it, add ghee i. e. Clarified better in the food.

Also, if pitta dosha become dominate in the body then that would cause Diarrhoea, yellowish skin, Grey hair, skin diseases , Liver problem. So in that case one should go for food which contain less amount of spices, less salty. Also avoid excessive Sun exposure.

If kapha dosha dominate in the body then that would cause vomiting, nausea, anorexia, Constipation, laziness, heaviness in the head. In that case one should take food which lacks fat content. and also avoid heavy food, Yunk food, sweets, ice creams. instead of it , take light and hot food . Sleeping during day time should be avoided in this case. Because Day time sleep also increases kapha in the body. Adding Up of exercise or yoga in daily routine would be very beneficial in this case.

(2) The condition of these vata, pita and kapha also depend upon the routine that is followed. An highly active daily routine would definetly disturb the vata. Late night work, excessive fasting increases the vata dosha in the body.

Excessive anger, excessive Sun exposure and not taking proper rest increases pitta dosha.

Kapha dosha increases in the body by following highly relaxing schedule. Sleep during day time, and not doing any exercises also increases kapha dosha in the body.
